Marian Veltman is the GoDutch Realty agent for Atenas real estate and nearby areas such as San Mateo, Orotina, Turrucares and La Garita, all in the Alajuela Province.

Marian has lived almost all of her life in The Netherlands in a town close to Amsterdam. She was born in Suriname (a former Dutch colony) and moved to The Netherlands at the age of 12. Before moving to Costa Rica, Marian worked at The Netherlands Cancer Institute in Amsterdam. She and her husband Aad, a former Amsterdam Police Inspector, moved to Costa Rica in 2008, and found their new home base in Atenas.

Marian speaks Dutch, English, German, and Spanish. She and her husband fell in love with the country, the climate and the people. After vacationing for two weeks in Costa Rica, they bought their home in Atenas, and have been living here permanently since 2008.

She is still in awe of the Atenas area, the perfect climate, its central location and the lovely town and its surroundings. Atenas is a friendly and homey town, where local people and expats nicely mix together. The people of Atenas are socially very involved, there is always something arranged for everyone: fairs in the central park, benefits for the children’s home or animal rescue, horse parades, live music performances, chili festival, pot-luck parties, and more.
